Who is Arranging for Harpists Made Easy for?
I made this course for any harpist or harp student who wants the freedom of creating their own arrangements and to be free from the notes on the page.
Is this a Beginner or Advanced course?
Arranging for Harpists Made Easy is the beginner version of my Arranging for Harpists course, with all the information you need to get started with no prior arranging or music theory experience.
If you want more advanced material, you can sign up using the form above, and on the next page you can upgrade to Arranging for Harpists: The Complete Guide which contains all four modules of AFH Made Easy, plus an additional five modules with more advanced content.
What harp skill level do I need to take this course?
All you need is to be able to read sheet music and play with both hands at the same time.
Can I take this course if I can't read sheet music?
You'll get the most out of this course if you can read sheet music. Each lesson is demonstrated by explaining and writing out each concept and example, then playing it to listen to. So you may still get something out of the course without being able to read sheet music, but it may be a little more challenging to follow.
Will this course teach me to transcribe by ear?
No, transcribing and playing by ear are a very different skillset to arranging, so you won't find that in this course.
How long do I get access to the videos?

Do I need to know any music theory?
No, you do not need to know music theory! It can certainly help, but it is not necessary. All you need is to be able to read sheet music.
What will I be able to do after taking this course?
Arranging for Harpists Made Easy will allow you to: take sheet music for another instrument and adapt it for harp, create arrangements that suit your skill level and express your musical style, extend songs you know to be longer and more interesting, allow you to improvise from lead sheets and sheet music you already have, and even allow you to create arrangements on request for clients.
Will what I learn apply to any song?
Yes! You can take the concepts you learn in Arranging for Harpists Made Easy and use them to arrange any song you want.
The course is structured so that we use a well known folk song, Danny Boy, as an example for each concept, but everything in the course can be applied to any song.
Do I need music notation software?
In the video lessons, I use a software called Musescore, which is a free music notation software available for computers at musescore.org.
However, you can apply everything in the course on any software, or even by hand or playing by ear.
The digital lesson note pack includes PDFs, .mus, and .xml files so that you use them in the software or printed version of your preference.
